Ladakh is a land of barren beauty. For those willing to go for the long and treacherous journey, they will experience beauty beyond imagination. You will find tons of pictures on the web for this region, Even I used to be mesmerized with pictures, but when I saw the landscape in front of me, I was completely speechless. Therefore I urge you to go and visit this place and experience it for yourself. Still, I would like to note some experiences of mine which were amazing to poke the wanderer inside you!

1) Pangong lake - The highest salt lake in the world :

Some Facts :

Saline water remains frozen in winters

Important breeding ground for a variety of birds, home of Bar-headed goose and Brahmini ducks

Five-hour drive from Leh, a rough drive via mountain roads

2) Khardung la - World’s highest motorable pass

Some Facts :

The with Ladakh range spreading towards the south and the Karakoram range to the north, the white snow-capped mountain form a picturesque view from the top

Dizzying heights, rarefied air, and brutally cold temperatures can give travelers a mild kick

3) Nubra Valley

A high altitude cold desert with rare precipitation and scant vegetation except along river bed

The Nubra River flows through the Nubra region of Ladakh, making it fertile. Fruits such as apple and apricots are readily available

The valley is an amazing area to visit with neat and beautiful villages along the rivers with small forests, fields and amazingly colorful meadows with colorful flowers.

4) Drass valley - Second coldest inhabited place

Starts from the base of Zojila Pass, also known as ‘The Gateway to Ladakh

Second coldest inhabited place in the world, with the temperature going to as low as – 40C during winter

The whole sector remains snow-bound in the late autumn or early spring and is subject to frequent snow storms

5) Diskit Monastery - Gompa.

7) Rejoice snowfall

You can experience snowfall anytime here on the way to Khardungla.

Many people also take a dive in a crystal clear waters

9) Chill with monks

It will be a really wonderful experience to spend time with the monk and learn that actually by just spending time with selves how happy someone really can be!
