Traveling alone is indeed an amazing experience in its own
way, you get best chance to enjoy your own self. Apart from the alone
experience making friends along the way is again a too good experience. Making
the local friends gives an opportunity to know the place you are visiting in
depth, plus the unseen and less popular places, some amazing experience,
dealing with the local authorities will make it too easy with local friends. I
have listed some ways how to get the right person having the similar frequency
as yours and how to make friends with them. Though the ways mentioned here are
little frumpy they are effective for sure.
1. Don’t hesitate to be inquisitive
It’s an old way to start a conversation also when you ask
someone, in a way you are showing the person that he is more knowledgeable and
intelligent, you give that person importance by asking so starting the
conversation this way has always proven a great start. 2-3 polite questions are
enough to judge the person. You’ll know you’re on the right track if the person
starts asking you back. Don’t get too personal, too quickly, and know people’s
limits. If you get short answers and little else, or if the person is trying to
avoid then it’s probably best to move on. In some cultures and societies,
communication between people of different ages, genders, and parts of society
has its own rules. The same goes for any kind of physical contact. Before
adopting this way make sure you have studied about culture and their behavior.
2. Invite everyone to join you.
Any adventure or game if you have in mind then just go for
it. It is the best way to grab everyone’s attention. Or you can also invite
everyone on the troop and people around if you have any good place in mind and
planning to visit. There is one important thing while you talk with local, they
see you as a tourist, many of them may take advantage of you as you are unknown
to the place, in this case, people from different places visiting this place
can be a safe and good option for you to make friends with.
3. Social media apps
There are pretty decent apps, which are pretty useful, gives
reviews about food, places, things to do and a lot more. People with similar
choices can make friends and plan their visits accordingly. Before making
friends and going out with anyone it is always good to know their background
and the place they belong to.
4. Try to grab those people who are light-hearted.
Whenever you try to make friends with someone make sure you
observe them other than directly approaching them for something. If they are
guided or belong to the profession where they can use you, then it may be a
trouble for you. People who are less cared about your background and helping
you with the local guidance or their experience of that place are more
trustworthy. Traveling to India or traveling to Australia or USA is still a
different experience with tour groups. Hiking, trekking tours are generally
done as the solo traveler.
Making unknown people your friends will give you a better
experience because you are no more worried to carry or bothered by the
personality you have been living in your routine life. That experience will
fill your trip with more of your life
