How to Travel Easter Island on a small budget
Easter Island is a remote volcanic island in Polynesia. Its native name is Rapa Nui. It’s popular for its archaeological sites. Easter Island is known for being an extremely expensive destination. But the place is not at all worth to avoid the problem of budget. I have some very good money saving tips for Easter Island tour. So don’t worry and Plan it for your December - 2017.

1. Save on flight
A. The major part of the expense of your trip is going to be
consumed here. So don’t just stop here! There are only two options to reach
Easter Island, and one is from Santiago de Chile and the other is from Tahiti.
There were also flights from Lima before, but they recently stopped due to some
reasons. We chose our flight from Santiago. Santiago has one flight every day
going to Easter Island. The flight cost will range from 800 - 1000 USD. but
spend more time on this, or prefer not to go in peak season.
B. I found my flight for around 500 USD. There are many
promotions flight does, so just don’t lose your hope. Keep searching for a good
deal. There are some good websites where you can track the flight fare, which
can also be useful.
2. Transport
A. You can use public transport, but at times language
becomes the barrier. Also, there are places like National Park where they ask
for a local guide. Not everywhere they asked but they do. So the best thing you
can do is, find a group who is traveling with you and chose a transport vehicle
along with the local guide. The advantage of the local guide is, he will also
guide you how you can save your money. Don’t go to agencies, find someone
local. The hotel staff may help you for the same.

3. Park visit Fee
A. Google proves to be the best here! I tried to search online. The entry fee at the National park is around 50 USD each, which is not too much but every penny saved without compromising on the
adventure was worth. So we did some research. Finally, we ended saving up some dollars.
4. Transport from the airport
A. Don’t find local. Try to book it with the hotel. As once you are there you don’t have any other option and they know it, plus you are tired and excited about the trip. So better book in advance. Some hotels give this as a complimentary service.
5. Accommodation
A. You will find the range of hotels, keep this to book at last. There are many websites where you can deals. So hotel can be booked once you have booked your flights. So you clearly know the budget for accommodation. Some hotels also provide complimentary breakfast, which also saves your dollars.
6. Food
A. It’s an island, seafood lovers are going to find it a heaven on street. The food is expensive as they get everything from outside. But you will end up enjoying delicious varieties. Another option to save money is to buy things from the supermarket and make on your own - which is the cheapest way, but I am certainly not this kind! This is just a suggestion if you really want to save!
Easter Island is a pretty small place. You can cover the whole place in around half a day, so 3-4 days are more than enough for this island. I spent 4 days and I did not even use up the whole budget, and still came back with some money.
