Some very important points if you are applying for Indian
Visa
1. It’s just like every other country, many websites claim
to be official and offer services for making online visa but it can be a trap.
These fake sites will look very similar to the official Indian government site.
But always check for “gov.in” in the URL.
2. The e-Visa is only good if your visit is for less than 60
days or so. So for the longer duration visa kindly avoid this option or check
the latest policy online.
3. Make sure that your passport’s expiry is not within 6
months. The validity of the passport is an important factor.
4. The e-Visa can be applied twice a year. It has 3
sub-categories: e-Tourist visa, e-Business Visa, and e-Medical visa.
5. Email copy of visa is not allowed. The printed copy is
needed as it will be stamped when you arrive India.
Points to consider if applying for longer tenure
1. To apply for a six-month (or longer) tourist Visa, you
need to apply at an Indian Authorities. It can be Consulate Generals and High
Commissions which varies according to the country for which you are applying.
2. You have to apply online, print the form and bring it to
your local consulate. There will be many specific rules, like the specific
dimensions of the photos and the color of the background. If you don’t follow
the guidelines properly, and if there is any mistake, they will not accept your
application. Likewise, if there are any mistakes, such spelling mistake or
change in middle name or birthdate.
It’s better, to be honest.
People apply for the visa for many reasons, especially
India. Medical tourism, or educational purpose or just to attend the wedding.
People also travel for their photo stories or to enjoy amazing festivals of
India. There is ample type of visa available. So if you clearly mention your
purpose and be honest, the consulate will try to help you with best. Once the
consulate General told me, if you are
honest, they will try and do everything they can to make sure you get the right
Visa.
If you are going to educational institutions in India, you
need an education Visa. If you are going for your travel stories about India or
taking photographs for publication, you need a journalist Visa. There are
various other types of Visas like the business, conference, medical and
research.

getting all the details right. The process is very easy but If you make a
mistake, you could be denied.
